Coco Cat Bed Review
I have been on a quest to make every view in my home as lovely as I can. I started identifying pain points in even the simplest of areas. One of the areas that kept bothering me is our laundry room. We have a very small laundry room and it has multiple functions for us. It’s the entry from our garage and the main passageway into our kitchen. It’s, of course, where we do our laundry. It also houses our sweet kitty, Coconut’s, food bowl, paw washing station and litterbox. It’s also where he sleeps at night. We put Coconut to bed just like a baby in the laundry room every night. We learned a long time ago with our first cat, Mai Tai, that cats really enjoy pouncing on you and waking you up around 3am. 😂
We’ve tried several times to let Coco have the freedom to roam the house at night but he always shows up in our room around 3am raising cain and wanting us to get up and do something for him, whether its food, water or just play with him. He will not just jump on the bed and sleep with us. If we have our door shut then he bangs on the door and yowls. So, we trained him early on that when we go to bed, he goes to bed.
We’ve had Coco for almost 5 years now. He has a routine and he loves it. We have had a blanket for him to sleep on for years. Well, I got tired of looking at it. For one, there was nothing at all appealing about it, other than it being Coco’s woobie.
So, I started a quest to find the perfect pet bed for Coco that we both could love. I searched for several weeks before I found a few that I liked on Etsy. It took me several more weeks to finally place the order for the bed. There were lots of details to consider. First is that Coco is a big cat (over 20 lbs!) and he is long so a tiny cat-sized bed just wouldn’t do for him. Also, I have a very specific amount of space that can handle a pet bed that had to be considered. We still need to be able to do laundry and use the cabinet drawers and trash cans that are in the laundry room.
I needed a bed that wouldn’t be too thick so we could still use our pullout drawers where we keep our laundry detergent.
I ordered a 30” round blue toile pet bed from Etsy and got it monogrammed with Coconut’s name on it! It was a little pricey, but it is absolutely worth it! I knew if it worked, it would last a long time. I made sure that the cover can be removed and washed.
The bed came in the tiniest of packages!
Feeling a little skeptical that they sent me the right bed! 😂
It's a miracle! It's huge and I love it!
My husband and son joked about the possibility that Coco wouldn’t sleep on it after me splurging on the bed. I took the chance anyway. For the first week I had no idea if he was sleeping on it or not. When we put him in there, he wouldn’t settle down. And, when I open the door in the mornings he would always be at the door waiting for me to open the door.
On New Years Eve, when we were going to bed, we walked in there and Coco followed us and got on his sweet little bed and laid down. It was the perfect New Year’s Eve miracle for me! 🥰
